    Challenge To provide power on a remote Scottish moor to power a talk-through Radio Repeater for the Estate Radio Network

    Result An efficient compact combined wind & solar system provides sufficient power in the “middle of nowhere” to run the radio repeater throughout the year. The system has to withstand wind speeds in excess of 120mph on a regular basis.
    Specials Because of the extreme and remote site it was more cost effective to hire a helicopter for 2 hours to bring the concrete in for the base. The system components came in by 4 wheel drive vehicle to within 1.5kms of the site and then by Argocat. The installation crew “walked out” carrying all their tools with them.
