Result Now in it's third year of operation at the School the wind turbine has been a great succes. It is anticipated that it will generate around 100,000kWh per annum at the site. It has become a focus for the children and staff at the School. They have won the coveted Kuoni Award for their environmental teaching & awareness. The wind turbine was officially opened by British Prime Minister - Tony Blair - whose parliamentary constituency is next door to Cassop.
Specials Phase 1: the civil works and cable laying across the playground were completed during the October School half-term to minimise disruption.
Phase 2: The turbine was shipped from the USA and installed during the School February half term. The project was completed ON TIME & ON BUDGET. Mike Seeley from WINSUND became known to the pupils at Cassop as “the wind man” & we made a donation to set up the School web site www.cassopschool.org.uk
